|
|
Hello. I have a very very rare problem.
When Im connecting more than two connections on the ethernet switch, then the Axis 212 or 207 ip camera looses its bandwidth speed.
I used mpeg4 30fps and 4cif(760x480) resolution and variable bitrate compression mode. in total aprox. 2,5 mbit/s
when Im connecting only the computer and the camera via switch, then i get the maximum performance (30fps)
when Im connecting a third cable(a computer, or a cable coming from other switch) then I get 5fps max.
I have tested with various switches, including a very professional one(smc 24 port 1000mbit with 4 fiber optic channels rack mountable). the result is the same.
I have tested various methods.. testing with other software, other pc, 5 different switches, 2 other cams, various compressing modes...
it worked only in one manner. if the swith has more than 8 ports, then its divided into different blocks of 8 ports. In case of connecting in every block of 8ports 2 - cables, it works, but itīs not the solution (
I think its because 30 packets(frames) per second are too much for the switchīs processor. or maybe each frame is divides into many otcher tcp packets and finally the quantity is exceeding the limit of the switch. but if itīs so, then ip survveillance is a bullshit.
No.. im sure that it wont be so. altough iīve done many many tests.
P.S - any network specialist offering a solution?

What's connected to the other switch and how many people are trying to access the camera? You've already proven that the bandwidth required by the camera isn't overloading the switches CPU or you'd never get your 30fps in the first place!
Try unplugging everything from the second switch and plugging back in one at a time.

here is the diagram.
today i recieved the reply from axis online helpdesk. they have no idea and has sent me a quos guide of axis cameras. I have seen no quos configuration in the camera setup.. i think the quos service is for more expensive cameras.
Although I dasbled the quos service in the network video recorderīs interface, but it changed nothing.
Itīs very rare.. nobody speaks about this problem.. I suppose that I have to test in other networks with other NVRs

other rarity
i have another network separated with a 8 port switch. a dallmeier dvr sharing the switch with 2 more windows xp machines. Iīve installed the 207 camera changing the ip from 192.168.0.91 to 192.168.2.91 to accord to with the rest of the machines. And this time I got 30 fps viewing in 2 different computers at once.
Iīve changed the ips of both NVR and Camera. but i get the same result. now i wanna remove the poe adapter.
